Hunt for the Decepticon Leader Class Starscream Review

Leader Class Starscream in the new yellow box "Hunt for the Decepticons" series hasbro has finally arrived in the Philippines during the TF Autobot Alliance event. It has a totally new packaging with a box size smaller than TFTM leader class. In front, the movie accurate Starscream is held inside the box with the usual twisties with the logo of Hunt for the Decepticons sticker suctioned on the bottom left of the plastic. The box sides publicize Starscream’s technical specifications and its special features like pop-out weapons and arm converts to cannon. At the back is his adds on gimmicks like electronic lights and sounds such as Starscream speaks, light-up eyes and chest, jet engine and air combat sounds, automatic conversion sounds, and firing missiles. With such an innovative stratagem or scheme of the toy, HFTD Starscream can be voted as the best incarnation of the movie figure so far.

HFTD Leader Class Starscream (Robot mode)

In Robot mode
We wanted him to be bigger so Hasbro has made a witty prompt to make him a leader class figure and his just faultless for being straight and hi-fi toy to his movie. I made a wise decision of owning him instead of his voyager mold. His very well-articulated in forelimbs (shoulders, arms, and hands) and hind limbs (legs, knees and feet) suggesting a lot of poses can be done with him.
Starcreams’s arms are long and armored with pop-out missiles and canon weapons on both arms in battle mode. His hands are wicked and can be used to place the cannon weapon. You can also place the cannon and missiles on Stascream’s back wing.

F-22 Raptor mode

Over the top he got the tattoos similar to his ROTF voyager class and with 2 missiles attached on either side of his wings. The gray and black color combination looks cool on him replicating almost the same as in the movie. A little bit bulky at the bottom but it does really affect the over-all aestheticism of the toy in the F-22 Raptor jet. There’s a launching missile hidden in between the two legs and with very descent landing gears. His wide and the hands are sticking up at his back the same with TFTM and ROTF voyager class Starscream, but this time the hands and arms are hidden discretely. It’s very interesting to note that Hasbro has finally learned from their mistake by hiding the Starscream head properly and other related issues concerning his F-22 raptor mode.

HFTD Leader Class Starscream (F-22 Raptor mode)

In jet mode his 31 cm long with a wing span of 22 cm width it’s almost the same size with Masterpiece Starscream but no bigger than Supreme Class Cybertron Starscream. You will hear the jet engine and air combat sounds and his odd voice saying, “You cannot defeat Starscream” by pressing the button with a decepticon insignia lying adjacent the cockypit. The transformation to R-22 raptor mode is quite easy for someone who has experienced playing the TFTM and ROTF voyager class Starscream even without using the manual.

HFTD LC Starscream up close and personal

Pros
Well-articulated
New gimmicks and features
Movie accurate toy

Cons
G1 Starscream voice
A bit unstable chicken legs

This is a size comparison of HFTD Leader Class Starscream with Cybertron Supreme Class Starscream and Hasbro Masterpiece Starscream in jet mode. I really like putting them side by side together it reminds of his evolution from G1 to the current era.
